1927-2010

Gordon was a member of Wycombe Photographic Society for over 25 years. He was a member who made the transition from film medium to digital when digital was in it's infancy. Never a traditionalist in his images Gordon was always exploring Photoshop to find functionality that did something different, as some of his images in this gallery will show. Gordon sadly passed away in April of this year. All members will miss the creative images in our club competitions and exhibitions of this gentle man.

On a rather cloudy morning 7 members arrive for our May photoshoot from the Virginia Water Gate of Windsor great Park. The first location to photograph was the cascades, which although lacking a lot of water did inspire members with various different vantage points and different torrents to photograph whist keeping a wary eye open to ensure that an eager dog did not cock it's leg against the camera bag. Then onto the ruins where we were blessed with a little more light to photograph with. A leisurely stroll along the lake to the Totem Pole where we also had the opportunity to photograph some Mandarin ducks, The Punch Bowl was a blaze of colour as thee azalias were all in bloom although trying to exclude picnic-ers would be a job for photoshop.

On a glorious April evening members from WPS visited Hughenden Church to photograph the exterior under both daylight & floodlit conditions. Afterward we entered the interior of this iconic Wycombe landmark to capture images from the stunning interior.

Our delayed winter photoshoot was at Hambledon on Sunday 14 March 2010.  The weather made the delay worthwhile as a glorious sunny morning with good skies presented themselves to the dozen or so members who seized the opportunity to photograph the picturesque village and wild water of teh Thames.

Members images from our indoor photoshoot on 3/12/09. Subjects to photograph ranged from fruit & Veg Still Life, Fungus, Fucshia Blooms covered by Frost, Roses & Portraiture all available with a range of lighting conditions.

Our first photoshoot of the new season saw 15 members hunting for deer in Richmond Park, Shooting was left to the cameras with lots of Red & Fallow Deer on show. View the gallery to see  images taken by various members on what turned out to be a very good excursion for WPS.

On our 4th outdoor photoshoot of 2009 members of WPS visited Henley on the evening of 4th June to catch evening light in the town and along the river.

After our January washout at College Lakes it was decided to return for another try - but once again the weather was not becoming to good photography. But 10 hardened members made the most of the mixed weather.
